The call of deep sea
Deeply rooted in countries with long coastlines, Omega, a watchmaking company, is full of boundless love for the deep sea. The indissoluble bond with the deep sea has promoted Omega to be extraordinary. It's also a fascinating story. Omega is honored to share it with you.
Omega ocean legend
In the decades before entering space exploration, Omega began to explore the endless deep sea. At that time, Omega played a vital role in the process of deep-sea exploration, and there is no doubt that this cause will continue, and the deep sea, which accounts for two-thirds of the earth's surface area, is still one of the greatest mysteries on earth.
"14 meters below the Pacific Ocean, I wear my Omega marine watch, where the water pressure is twice as high as normal. Its waterproof, dustproof and corrosion resistance represent the great progress of the watch industry. "
A watch specially developed for deep diving
The design concept of Omega wristwatch originated from the infinite deep sea, not fabricated. This can meet the requirements of professional divers and continuously promote innovative tabulation technology. Omega first consulted the diver's requirements, then went further.
In order to be waterproof in the deep sea, the diving meter must bear heavy water pressure. According to different tables, Omega will test the diving meter in water with at least 30 atmospheres (pressure meters / 300 meters / 1000 feet). In order to ensure additional safety, Omega will apply an additional 25% water pressure on the basis of international standards.
Inspired by the traditional decoration on the gondolas in Venice, the seahorse badge became the logo of the seahorse Series in 1958. Up to now, it is still decorated on the back of some watches.
Focus on environmental protection
Omega's indissoluble bond with the deep sea makes Omega keenly aware that the deep sea is so fragile. Omega, together with the better planet foundation, made an ecological documentary "planet ocean" and launched an environmental protection project called "time for the planet" to show the world how to contribute to the protection of the earth's ecological health.
